St. James's Place Bank Secure

If you shop online with your St. James's Place Bank debit card, your transactions are now safer than ever.

When you make an online purchase using your debit card, you may be prompted to enrol with our St. James's Place Bank Secure service which will give you extra protection through the Verified By Visa scheme.

Once you have enrolled, you will need to provide your password to complete a transaction on certain websites.

Enrolling is fast and easy, you'll just need to choose your own personalised password and enter your card details. Enrol now.

This is how it works

When you shop at participating online retailers you will be prompted to submit a St. James's Place Bank secure password on a safe and secure pop-up screen before completing your transaction. Just like your PIN, only you will know this password, so only you will be able to authorise your online purchases.

After 3 prompts, if you do not register your password you will not be able to shop at the participating retailers' sites. That is why you must pre-register a password for your debit card at www.sjpbank.co.uk or follow the prompt to register whilst shopping online. You will know you are shopping on a participating website when you are asked to enrol or enter your password.

Not all online retailers participate in the scheme at the moment, but most will over time.

You're in safer hands when you shop online with St. James's Place Bank Secure

We want you to feel absolutely confident that you can shop online safely and securely. Clients registered for our online banking service already benefit from our online guarantee, and now St. James's Place Bank Secure will help protect you too.

Be aware that fraudulent emails, alleging to be from various UK banks, have been sent out encouraging people to visit a website where personal card or internet security details are then requested. This is known as "phishing".

St. James's Place Bank will never send emails which ask for confidential information or your security details. If you think you have received such an email, please delete it immediately without responding or visiting any website details. If you are concerned that you may have divulged any details, please call us on 0845 602 6200.
